Ask Ryan

What is ur 100m time, there is so much speculation?

FROM LIAM CROSS, AUSTRALIA

The last time I ran a hundred was when I was 15 and I ran 11,6 then.. Have no idea what I run now.. In rugby it's different to on the track so I'm sorry I can't help you out with that..

Are u happy with the amount of game time u getting with the boks? Would u rather get game time playing the CC?

FRANCO DE BRUYN, SA

Hey Franco, of course I'd like to get way more game time for the Boks but with all the brilliant players we have it isn't always possible.. All we can do is play hard for the Sharks and train hard and hope it's good enough..

If your family is not Jewish are you Christian?

FROM CHINE LOMBARD, SA

Yes I am Christian..

How do u get into shape for match day? Any chance of a signed jersey?

JAMIE BROMLEY, UK

Hey Jamie, that's why we have such a long pre season to get in shape for all the knocks but the most important thing for us I'd say is the recovery after game.. The supplements, massages and so on help massively with getting through the competition so it helps to have a good medical team like we do at the sharks.. About the jersey, I'll try arrange a few to be won as prizes on the website..

Who is quicker you and Odwa? I think ur.

FROM WAYNE DEAN, SA

I've never had an actual race with him so couldn't tell you in that regard.. He is quick though..

How much do u bench press, snatch and power clean?

FROM FREDERIC MONTOUSSE, FRANCE

Hey Fred no worries.. I don't do bench press anymore, just use free weights and cables.. But power clean, the heaviest I've gone is probably 120kgs for 3.. Snatch 80kgs for 3.. There are some guys here that do way heavier weights..

What is the red stuff the guys are wearing what is it for?

FROM CARAME MEYER, SA

Howzit Carame. It's called K tape and it helps with blood flow and manipulation of the skin. Speeds up recovery time so it's really taken off lately. It helps with pain relief and strenghtening after an injury. It can stay on for 4 or 5 days, it's really quite an amazing strapping. Keep well. R

You push yourself to the limits every week u know ur body can handle it. What or who is ur driving force on and off the field?

FROM ROBIN JAMIESON

Its for the love of the game and the players around you.. Not many people have been given the abilities to play rugby at the highest level so we have to do the most with what we have for the short time we can..

Hey Ryan what would I have to do to get u to go to my daughter's matric farewell with her?

FROM WARWICK FRASER

Hahahaha she'd have to ask me first?

What do u think if ur opposing player had Quade Coopers skills, speed of Masaga, Louakis build, Mcalister se bo bene, Lomu's strength, Nonu's hair & Spencer's tattoos?

FROM NADIA

That would be a special player.. I have a lot of respect for most players, to play at super 14 they all have to be pretty good.. Quade has a step that any rugby player would be jealous of and is playing brilliant rugby at the moment

Hey Kannas! What do you do to stay so modest?

FROM RENTIUS BREET

Can never take anything for granted, can get taken away from you just as quickly as you got given it.. And maybe the fact that my Dad said if I ever get bigger than the game he'll bring me back down to earth very quickly haha.. Without all you people out there us rugby players would be nothing so being me is the least I can do..

Hey Ryan I'm a massive overseas fan of the Sharks but what Pumas do you wear?

FROM XAV PELUSO

Hey, you talking about the gold and black ones? Not sure of the exact code but will post a picture of it and if you leave your email i'll send the code when i get it..

Do u like girls in sweat pants?

FROM LIEZEL ENGLEBRECHT

Love sweat pants!

Is there any way in the world someone like me could get a signed jersey of urs? I'd give a pinkie or two?

FROM MIGUEL DA COSTA

If you get hold of Kendra we can see what can be arranged..

With the arrival of Willem Alberts at the Sharks, have u considered moving to 6 at all?

FROM JOSEF GREM

Number 8 is where I want to play and with Willem here its going to make it that much harder to hold onto the jersey but I plan to give it my best.. But you never know, we both can play blindside and 8 so we'll have to wait and see..

Apparently u made an attempt to run some guy over on the Espin lawn and he put u on ur head. Then u tackled him but he stepped u and u tore ur hamstring?

FROM RYAN MZO

Apparently you live in a dream world? haha..

Apparently u tried to benchpress 40kg in standard 9 but it was too heavy and fell back on ur chest. Have things changed or ru still a weakling?

FROM DISASTER MZO

HAHAHA Mr Mzozoyana, welcome.. Well it helps when the guy thats mean't to be spotting you is pushing the weight down with his full body weight.. Can only hold up a weight for so long?

Big fan. Living in cold Toronto now. Was wondering whether you are jewish?

FROM JAKE SANDLER

Hey, both grandparents born in Germany and I'm german as far as I know, but with the war you can't trace back and see where the surname originates from? Some websites say Polish some say Russian so have no idea. But my family are not jewish but as far as back then have no idea..

Who were the toughest number 8 you had to face in 2009?

FROM RORY ANDERSON

We very fortunate to have a couple of great number 8's in the country with, Willem Alberts, Duane Vermualen and Pierre Spies to name a few its always tough.. but as a 8 you don't really play against your opposite number its the openside flanker you need to beat..

What is the toughest team you have ever faced?

FROM SORAYA OPPENHEIM

I'd probably have to say the south african rugby teams are the hardest and toughest to play. You always playing for pride and bragging rights i suppose but its never good to lose to any south african team.
